The best effing sports Sunday by far this year...

How could a Sunday be any better?

First, you have Tiger winning the BMW Championship to catapult him to the top of the FedEx Playoffs. And having to score a 63 none-the-less...Baddley was really giving him a run for the money.

Then you have Dario Franchitti winning what was by far and away the most pressure-filled, exciting, and amazing IRL Championship in its history. Dario running second, not looking as if he could pass Dixon, then Dixon runs out of gas on the 3rd corner of the final lap. That coupled with Danica's "spin out" while trying to get to the pit to get a splash of ethanol (which will only add to the drama by the loonies suggesting it was done purposely). Man...the only thing comparable was the St. Louis Rams' winning the Super Bowl by stopping Mason 1.5 feet from the goal line.

Then you have the "Tiger of Tennis", Roger Federer winning the US Open for the 4th CONSECUTIVE TIME!!!! All this against what could be the reincarnation of Federer & Sampras.

Then the Broncos had an amazing last second field goal to win the game. Why was it amazing? Well, because the Broncos converted TWO FOURTH DOWNS on the final drive of the game, coupled with the fact that the Broncos RUSHED THEIR FIELD GOAL TEAM ON IN WITH LESS THAN 12 SECONDS LEFT, AND ELAM NOT EVEN SETTING UP PROPERLY!!!!!!

And what could possibly be the topper? Well of course Romo and the Cowboys not only beating the Giants, but decimating their team injury-wise.

Again I say, by far and away the best Sunday this year so far.

P.S. All of the above coupled with the NASCAR race on Saturday night that didn't have the #8 officially out until with 20 laps left.

P.P.S This was officially the best weekend in sports this year...I can't wait for 10 weeks from now.

Prediction of the year...

Tony Romo will lead the 'Boys to at least the 2nd round of the Playoffs, and if not the Super Bowl this year, then next year. With or without "She".

Falcons will be better without Vick!

I am so sick and tired of hearing about the Falcons being in deep shit without Vick. I am in no way, shape, or form a Falcons fan...that being said, Harrington will do better than Vick ever did. Forget the one or two highlight reels that ESPN shows a gazillion times a night that Vick may have done twice or thrice a year; Harrington will have a more consistent and more productive year than The Dog Killer ever had.

Would I have said this last year? No. But with the new coach bringing in a better offensive system better suited to a pocket passing quarterback, you can take this prediction to the bank (or to Vegas, if you're a gambling degenerate).

Mark my words.

If anyone wonders why the Busch Series is not the same as the 'Minor Leagues'...

You should have watched tonight's Busch Race. A crazy crash with someone being airlifted to a hospital, and a final 12 lap shootout between regular cup drivers.

If anyone can show me this kind of drama in another league's "minor league" system, I'd love to hear the comparisons. (And no, fights between baseball teams that nobody has ever heard of do not count.

It's official...

While I truly dislike Michigan, if Hart had not been injured and missed the better part of two quarters, there would have not been "the upset of the century".

That being said, App State has some mother-effing athletes on their team and I don't know if I would want to face them if in the first game of the season if I was a contender for a national title.

Also, it's official that my favorite team growing up, Notre Dame, sucks shit...and much props to Rumor & Rants for calling Lou Holtz out for being the sorriest ass Homer on ESPN, or any other network.

And my other favorite team, Texas, did not look so good.

What a Saturday for gamblers making bets against the spread...V-Tech, G-Tech, App State, among the others....that's why I never bet on opening weekend of any sports (even though I never bet).

Am interested in hearing your comments on the betting for next week...
